{"id":4023,"date":"2020-03-25T11:17:10","date_gmt":"2020-03-25T11:17:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.groupcaliber.com\/?p=4023"},"modified":"2022-01-20T15:55:56","modified_gmt":"2022-01-20T15:55:56","slug":"trust-in-financial-sector-2020-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/groupcaliber.banyodev.dk\/index.php\/2020\/03\/25\/trust-in-financial-sector-2020-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Trust in Financial Sector 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Caliber continues its collaboration with <a href=\"https:\/\/finanswatch.dk\/Finansnyt\/Pengeinstitutter\/article12020457.ece\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>FinansWatch<\/strong><\/a> in learning more about what drives Trust in the Danish financial sector.<\/p>\n<p>This year we have focused on the 51 biggest financial institutions in the country: 25 banks, 10 insurance companies, 12 pension funds and 4 mortgage lenders. Around 2.000 people have participated in the survey and provided their perceptions of the industry and its main players, allowing us to compare the trends with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.groupcaliber.com\/blog\/2019\/03\/27\/trust-in-financial-sector-global-study-2019\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">previous year in Denmark<\/a>, as well as with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.groupcaliber.com\/blog\/2019\/10\/03\/2019-global-financial-study\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">global trends<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/insight.finanswatch.dk\/rapporter\/2020\/finanstillid\/finanstillid.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-4025 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/www.groupcaliber.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/finanstillid.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"326\" height=\"455\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The report is based on Caliber\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.groupcaliber.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/caliber_perception_monitoring_model.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">standard reputation model<\/a> and analyzes general public perceptions and drivers of trust towards the financial industry. Among others, the following questions are analyzed in depth:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To what extent is the sector trusted overall, and among specific demographic sub-groups?<\/li>\n<li>How has the industry developed throughout 2019?<\/li>\n<li>Who are the \u201cwinners\u201d and \u201closers\u201d when it comes to winning consumer support in Denmark?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In addition to these questions, we have also focused in this year\u2019s report on specific topics that have dominated the media discourse in Denmark (and many other countries) throughout 2019. We have asked the respondents to provide their opinions on how the financial institutions perform in areas like:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Salary and bonuses to top management<\/li>\n<li>Implementing the latest technologies<\/li>\n<li>Protecting personal information<\/li>\n<li>Responsible investment (in relation to environment, ethics and society)<\/li>\n<li>Equality (women in management; focus on young people)<\/li>\n<li>Money laundering and tax havens<\/li>\n<li>\u2026 and many more<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It is clear from the report that the industry players are increasingly focused on being purpose-led rather than product-led compared to the previous year. Nevertheless, the biggest banks, insurance companies and pension funds in the country still have a way to go in explaining how their stated ethical and societal goals impact the day-to-day lives of their customers.<\/p>\n<p>The full results of the study are included in a report that is now available from FinansWatch \u2013 a summary of that report (in Danish) can be viewed <a href=\"https:\/\/insight.finanswatch.dk\/rapporter\/2020\/finanstillid\/finanstillid.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>here<\/strong><\/a>.
